Bioinformatician and software developer

I am currently a postdoc at Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai, New York.

During my undergraduate studies I worked as a research assistant in the Beatson microbial genomics lab at the University of Queensland. During this time I developed protocols and software for the assembly of genomes for collaborators of the group. I stayed with the Beatson group to complete a PhD studies, researching phage-mediated lateral genetic transfer in E. coli. My doctoral thesis focused on developing new ways of visualising sequencing data and assemblies.

In my spare time I enjoy listening, playing and composing music.
